SEMINAR TITLE - “Mastering Web Development From Basics to Careers"

I. Details of the event/activity

On March 17, 2026, our group held a seminar called “Mastering Web Development: From Basics to Careers” for ICT students in grades 11 and 12 at Mabayuan Senior High School. This was part of our requirements as fourth-year IT students at Gordon College. The purpose of the talk was to give the high schoolers a clear introduction to how websites are built and why this skill is important in the IT world. We covered several key topics, including the relationship between clients and servers, the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and the various job opportunities available in web development. II. Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)

Leading this seminar was a very rewarding experience for our team. It gave us a chance to pass on what we know to younger students while also helping us review our own knowledge of web development. One of the most important things we realized is that being an expert isn't enough; you also need to be able to explain difficult technical ideas in a way that beginners can easily understand. We also learned that web development isn't just about making things look good—it's about building systems that actually work well and help people solve problems. Seeing the students engage with the material was a great reminder of how impactful these types of educational events can be. III. Reflections on Possibilities on Implementing Some of the Webinar Input on a Practical Level (Practical Application of Learnings)

The most valuable part of this project was getting to act as speakers and facilitators. Presenting in front of an audience helped us build our self-confidence and improved our ability to communicate clearly. We also had to work closely as a team to make sure the event ran smoothly, which was great practice for our future careers. These communication and teamwork skills will be very helpful when we have to present projects or work with colleagues in the tech industry. This experience has motivated us to keep working on both our technical skills and our ability to interact professionally with others. IV. Positive Feedback (on the event organization)
The seminar went very well and followed a logical path. We organized the topics so that students could learn the basics first before moving on to more complex ideas, which made the information easier to digest. Because our team worked well together, the entire presentation felt organized and professional. Additionally, the students were very focused and asked good questions, which made the atmosphere feel more interactive and energetic. We feel that we successfully met our goal of teaching the students about web development and getting them excited about a career in IT.
V. Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities While the seminar was a success, I think future events could be even better if we included more hands-on activities. For example, doing a live coding demo or letting the students try a very short coding exercise on their own would make the lesson more practical. Giving them a chance to actually try out the tools we talked about would help them remember the concepts better and make the session even more engaging.
